Thank you for considering True Color Counseling, LLC
Are you having a difficult time handling the struggles in your life?
Do you wish you had more of a sense of community in your life, instead of feeling alone?
If you’ve been feeling hopeless or alone lately, or struggling with a problem in your life that feels unsurmountable, group therapy could help you improve your everyday life.
Group therapy helps you find a sense of community with others who are going through similar things as you while giving you access to valuable therapy that can truly help you feel better. Group therapy differs from individual therapy by holding therapeutic sessions in a group setting run by a therapist instead of in a private one-on-one setting with a therapist. In these group sessions, patients share their thoughts and experiences with the whole group, allowing them to support one another while being supported by a group of people who understand what you’re going through.
So if any of these sound like you…
Keep worrying about the same problem over and over …
Could trust someone with your secret struggle …
Wanting to stop feeling so alone in what you’re going through …
Interested in therapy, but want to try something lower pressure than individual therapy …
Wishing, longing … you felt more understood by others …
Looking for expert help in improving your life
… Then group therapy could be right for you.
Group therapy’s effectiveness lies in its ability to help you find connections with other people and their experiences. These therapist-guided sessions will help you learn more about yourself and how to improve the way you feel while feeling support from others who understand your experience. If you’re looking for help in improving your everyday life – or for a more community-oriented therapy experience – you would be a great fit for our group therapy services. I am currently offering and seeking participants for three group therapy opportunities:
“Connecting With Compassion” aka Nonviolent Communication Practice Group: We will be working through Nonviolent Communication: A Language for Life 3rd Ed by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, PsyD. This is a 10 week, 2 hours per meeting time commitment. The cost is $15 per session, $150.00 total. The cost includes a copy of the Rosenbergs book. This will be a closed group – once it starts we will not add any new participants. Group forming now for 6 – 8 participants.
“Yes You Can: 16 – Steps to Empowerment” Group: based on the work of Dr. Charlotte Karl we go beyond the 12 – Step model. This is a workbook – Yes You Can – based process. Once formed it will be a closed group lasting 16 weeks. Cost $300 per person ($10 a session and cost of the workbook $15). Group forming now for 6 – 8 participants.
“Time Around the Table” – At the kitchen table is the place to be in most homes. For many, it is the place full of sounds and smells of comfort, safety, memories. For some, not so much. This group experience is a “one-off”, happens once creating a unique set of experiences and memories with a unique set of people. Kinda like time together with friends over a cup of coffee or cup of tea but with time to explore, process, consider what is said, no “dangling participles” at the end of the evening … if ya know what I mean.
Using Daring Way ™; Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Non-Violent Communication, and Narrative Psychotherapy techniques I combine 29 years of experience as a professional Psycho-Therapist and my Chef for Hire business – True Color Cooking, LLC to facilitate team-building exercises using experience-based learning opportunities found in the kitchen. Cooking together creates an environment for sharing life and experiences. It can also provide an opportunity to experiment beyond the bounds of recipes or habitual behavioral patterns. world.
How it works: This therapeutic program is for individuals, families, groups. Once we decide the “who, what, when, where” menus are planned by clients. It could be a simple as baking cookies or creating a full meal together. Cooking occurs in the client’s home per “Chef for Hire” guidelines. Ingredients are purchased in advance by myself. Typically, organic, locally grown produce is used. The session includes our sharing what we have prepared together, debriefing our learning and clean-up. Session cost is $80 per participant plus the cost of food divided evenly among the number of participants. Payment is expected upon making “a reservation” for this group experience.
